What a week this has been...it has been a week of examinations and lost temper. Firstly he lost his text book and we had to make do with his notes. Add some friction by a few boys in the complex. My aching head!!
by the way, wish me luck...its maths tomorrow and my mind's whirling with fractions and simple interest... and the boy is so thrilled that he has worked on 30 pages of sums that he is actually taking the notebook to school to show off!!! Be still, heart...he's going to do well!!!
There are two new posts at my other blog...ColorS of my MinD...in response to writer's island and sunday scribblings...
Writer's island had a beautiful prompt this week - awakening..and the wonderful mother that i am, this was perfect to talk about the awakening of my maternal instincts. But considering that i'm feeling anything but maternal right now, I chose to write a flash fiction -ONE FINE DAY.
This time sunday scribblings came with a "smorgasbord" of ideas. Try as i might, i'm just not able to decide on THE pompt, from the 101 (yes, 101). I'm equally worse at a buffet...
so this is my two cents on masks... (click on masks if you want to read more...)

hang the guy who invented exams...and i say this as a mommy and a teacher!!!!
'hang the guy who inveted exams' - i support Gazal - and i say thsi as a guy who got harassed by exams so much that he decided he will never attempt to get more thn 70% coz he didnt see the point in raking in marks uselessly...
Ugh! Math! You just reminded me that Math will happen to me again whenever viv n I have kids... brrr... Unless I ken dump some of that responsibility there.. "I will only teach the kids english n science"???;)

Read 'One fine day" and 'Masks'. Very nice ... although its a tiny story, your style of writing reminded me of Lavanya Sankaran's 'Red Carpet' collection. Have you read it? You should probably write to publish.
@ madhu...
that story is what is called a flash fiction..trying to tell a story in 300 words...
yes, i've read Red Carpet...quite nice...but me writing a collection...ohhh!! haven't really thought on those lines...but u made my day...:D
@ brocasarea
Thank you, i will
Sorry--was a bit late in wishing you luck for the math--but anyway I think I wished you over IM.
Read 'one fine day'.Liked it. I'd heard of such an incident--but dont remember when.
Cheers
Ps
Good luck for the exams and you do have a way to weaving nice stories. Keep in coming...
we go through phases... first we hate studies when we are in school... then we suddenly develop a love for it after we pass out... then we hate it all over again when we have to teach our kids patiently.... and then i don't know what happens next :)
all the best for everything and nothing in particular!
