kuch khatti...kuch meethi

I've been tagged by ever smiling joy to write about 10 things i hate about men. Hate is a strong word and reserved for those who are scums. Since all the guys i know fall into the decent category, let's just say that there are a few things i love to dislike. After 14years of marriage, you cannot hate, you live with...Everyone has their flaws and no one's perfect...a look at both sides...;)

A few things men love to dislike in women

Chatting: : Give a woman a phone and a dear friend and you will never get the phone back…coming to Singapore has been expensive especially when I feel Delhi-sick and brainwash myself into having a teeny weeny chat with my friends…after sometime…I see hubby doing a lil jig with his watch, which is one of the perks of making the call

Decision making…(have seen a few friends go through this)

Wife: What do you want for dinner today? roti or rice..?
Anything” the bored reply…
Wife: “help me make a decision…what do you want?”
"Ok roti…"
Wife: you don’t want rice? (I tell you, here she asked for it)

Slowly getting irritated…okay, rice... whatever.you.want!!!!

There… hell has now broken loose…Dinner will now be neither roti nor rice, and will be served amidst freezing temperature…

I don’t do this…I just cook ‘whatever’…

Women drivers… : : There are excellent women drivers and then there are the not so capable ones. There was a time when I decided to relearn. After three 'crash' courses, I've stopped trying to drive, in consideration of my women friends who ARE excellent drivers!!!!...if I’m behind the wheel, it takes me five minutes to move an inch... and then we gallop the next few meters... that is why I like to drive only if the road is clear with no one around. :) Since that is never going to happen, I have sensibly moved driving to the ‘better do before I die’ list…

Women, do you dislike this in men too?

Degree of involvement ...: : Dislike the favoritism towards cricket, soccer and mobile. Really need to direct your interests more into shopping, listening, praising and spending (time, ie).

Small talk...: : I cannot understand how one grunt or monosyllable can possibly encompass all the emotions and responses but it does. It is most effective when uttered behind the newspaper or the laptop screen.

google...: : I'm the google in our house...that says it all.

Attention span ...: : I'm angry...and i'm waiting for an apology...He has the attention span of a goldfish and has already forgotten what has made me angry!!!

Multi-tasking...: : let's face it..men were not cut out for multitasking...that is why managing home and career becomes emotionally draining for women. It does not matter how well we do a task, we will always feel guilty. We also process information better...

Joy, you were right, that was not as easy as i thought it would be... Now if I had been tagged with this 10yrs earlier...hmmm but what's life without some spice, right? :)

rayshma, wian, jlt, preethi (if you have time in chennai, ie), let's see you add your mirch masala to this...i'm tagging you

diplomatic stand :-D
only three 'crash' course and you stoped driving? dont give up - try again.. till you master the art...

the monosyillable - 'hmmm..' - is one of the most versatile word in mens vocabulary - it can be used in almost any circumstances...
:-)

So well put! Just loved reading it and all of it makes sense!

And the toon with the ladies occupying the phone booths was hilarious!!

Laughed and laughed about the driving thing ... inching and galloping - he he he :-D . That was very funny.

Now to answer your question, I definitely get irritated with the lack of involvement from husbands when it comes to the REAL things. ie. giving their partners all their time, money and attention :D.

Btw the calvinator is perfect for this post ... how did those two get to be so cute?!

totally agree with rice/roti thing, my mom irritates me to the core with that question.. when people don't want to really listen what we have to say they should not ask...was so furious today..as always ;)
I hate driving though :)
hehhe I think you are right with attention span :)
mono syllables are a boon to mankind..

thanks for appreciating multitasking capabilities of men but I think women are best at it :D..

good post... i loved the cartoons...

but you give a guy something he is passionate about (like cricket) and then suddenly see a transformation....

he is involved, he can discuss things animatedly and with lot of emotion, no problem with attention span, he's a walking encyclopedia of facts and numbers and years, and he can multi-task (chug a beer, eat peanuts, watch tv and have a discussion about it simultaneously)

:P

-xh- :: that's another thing we are ..very diplomatic :P
and driving..i know..that's one thing which i HAVE to learn...:(

hmmm...:)

@brocasarea :: u agree? great!!! :)

@~nm : : yep, i bet all those guys would finish their calls before any one lady finishes hers...

@madhumita...: : now who's wicked?..sniff.sniff..i just don't understand why i just can't master the art of driving :(
calvin is so destressing..i tellyou...:D

@joy...hmmm..mellowed me down, sure it has...i was almost ready to write a post on what i love in the 'guy' (and there's plenty that i do) but then you wanted to know what i hated rite?...

@ceedy:: me too...:D

@rayshma...:: your hate post also sounded like a love post :-P...i loved it...now go show it to V...:D

@prats...actually this was mild...I actually waited this long to gather ammunition for this tag but the hubby is really working very hard, esp last few days and rite now can't bring myself to feel really irritated...

and yes, funny moments are worth blogging about...

and waiting girl for your tag...:D

@rambler...tsk..tsk..hey what's a woman gotta do? atleast help in helping her decide what to cook? ;)esp if she is a working woman...

the only time i've seen men multitask is while driving...

@guru...oh yeah...? i am not very fond of cricket... but then i do know how to turn the matches to my advantage...;)

Hee, hee...this looks like a list of my dislikes in men too. I have only one thing to add here:

A certain level of thickness when it comes to detecting emotional ups-downs - of their spouse & kid. They need a placard that says "I am feeling weepy".

ha ha ha--LOVED this post!! You are so right about multi tasking.And loved that bit about you being the google and chatting on the phone.(same for me!) The only place where we differ ar our driving skills.(I really enjoy driving--must have been a driver in my last janam!Although i prefer to elevate myself to the status of a 'racing car driver')
