cutting the rat's tail...

Got you with that title... didn't I?

You know it's time to take some serious action when you find yourself unconsciously plaiting your hair because it's getting too long...bringing to mind a gawky school goer with two plaits in an identity crisis - aiming to be rat tails or pig tails?

So the impulsive me, entered a salon and surrendered my hair to the whims of a scissor happy, non English speaking stylist, who has now successfully converted the pig tail into a mop head.

To add fuel to my ire, the hubby looks at me, after a whole day, and says "Yikes what have you done to your hair?"

I still haven't decided what has upset me more - his noticing after a day, or his comment...!

Mega sized BAWL!!!!

Now please be nice and make me feel better?

Terimah kasi! (that's thank you in malay!)

added as an afterthought: the rat's tail is now in its new avatar - the mini pony tail...

neera: you have seen it! why do you think all the snaps have my hair tied tightly back into a pony tail? :)

aww.. honey, MOP head? THAT bad?HUGS!
But then, fodder for the blog, is all good, wouldn't you say? At least your husband only said that. Mine would have rubbed it in every single day till the mop grew out. :-( Hugs again. And pic send maadi. But you know I am a staunch follower of 'judge not the book by its cover'. So mop or pig, the humorous brain it covers is what matters :-D

I had shoulder length hair...I was depressed so went to a salon and told the guy to do whatever he want to do my hair and told him length didn't matter to me (I had always liked my hair to be long). He gave me such a smart cut that I have stuck to it despite the fact that hubby likes long hair :D

So I wud say that if u feel you are looking good then rest of things do not matter ;-)

I quite liked the story ! I think the essence is in the frame !

The rats tail can indeed look like a pony's just formed tail !!

For some reason it reminded of O Henrys story..The Gift of the Magi.

On another count, it reminded me of a wise crack at office, who grew a mustache, and asked 'why' by the boss..said, ' i had to show some growth' !!

This hair thing...it grows back ! Except on some heads though !@

hey! Just read this..Simliar to what happened to me two years back. then i went back and told them to cut it really really short..Maybe just half an inch of hair. I loved the 'liberated feeling' plus it made me look so much younger! If u want i'll mail u my pics :) Have u seen V for vendetta? I think Natalie Portman looks realy good with hair shaved..At least yours hasn't gone to such extremes, right? :) and its hair after all--it will gorw back. So my suggestion will be chop it all off.
Cheers
preeti

Short hair looks great. At least your husband noticed. Mine asked me after I came back from the salon one day were't you supposed to go for a hair cut? Considering I had cut off at least 4 inches and spent a good amount on the cut, I was furious. Great writing.
